Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, Flushing Meadows Corona Park - Page XXX

The 2012 Festival was held August 4th and 5th.  I spent a few hours at the Festival on August 4th.
As I walked to Park, I took photos.  These 2 photos are
from the overpass at 99th Street.
A wild mushroom growing on the trunk of a tree!
Grand Central Parkway from overpass that  leads
into park.  Towers in park visible.
Lake from the same overpass.
The festivities underway!
Here once stood building that housed a swimming
pool, the Aquacade.  It was a public pool until 1978.
It closed permanently in 1982, and became home to
arsonists and vandals.  It was demolished in 1996.
The structure was used in both World Fairs.
A group practicing their routine.
A family enjoying the show!
The Dragon jumped from column to column, walked a
rope and danced to the beat of drummers close by.
Kites could be seen flying all over the park.

visitors from one side of park to other.
